emptily profound

make sure to read this post first, it goes into more detail about this blog

Hello, reader.

Recently, I’ve gotten quite a few detractors from my blog, saying that it advocates a sort of intellectual elitism. In person, most people—being friends, enemies, acquaintances, what have you—agree and say that I have an air of arrogance. I understand that I come off that way. But that is not my purpose here.

I try to post only original text comments, and sometimes songs that I really like. This blog is dedicated primarily to my rants in philosophy (recently I decided to stop posting things related too closely to my personal life, for that has caused various negative repercussions in itself), and because it is philosophy-themed, it will indeed have that feeling of “intellectual elitism.” I ask you, however, to read past that and look at the actual content of the posts.

My blog is titled “emptily profound,” for the sole reason that I believe everyone is profound in their own ways. As human beings, what is to say one person is smarter than the next? What or who is to say I am “profound” for posting something as “deep” as philosophy? I think it’s a bunch of nonsense to believe that just because someone uses big words or talks fancy means he’s smarter or filled with more worth than you. Oftentimes, it is those who take small steps who make the real differences—not those with big words. As for me, I may post philosophy, but… hell, I don’t think that proves anything about me. I’m not profound; I don’t think I’m smart; but most of all, I’m no more of a person with feelings, thoughts, and emotions than you are.

This blog is personal, for me to post my opinions. Disagree with them? Fine. But I want those detractors to realize, that although individualism is my most coveted trait in a person, respect for other individuals is a close second. Without respect, a person simply cannot honor the powers and capabilities of other individuals. Essentially, that’s what it means to be “selflessly selfish.”

But, as you can see, I love to type. Most people get bored of that. Most people just want to see pictures or short quotes. Sometimes I do that.

Not often, though. So, if you feel inclined to stop reading my blog, that’s fine by me. I won’t take it as something personal. I am a whole person beyond my blog, and I feel that a lot of anons don’t realize that. Anyways, if you want to talk to me, leave an ask.

Also, don’t be afraid to e-mail me. I greatly enjoy learning about the unique perspectives that you have as an individual, and especially, to those who are feeling down or need someone to vent/rant to, that’s what I’m here for. It’s really my only contribution back to society, anyways.
